Artist's Bio
MaryAnne earned her degree in journalism and art history from the University of Minnesota. During her studies, she developed a passion for color, inspired by artists such as Walasse Ting, Henri Matisse, Marc Chagall, Gregory Lomasyeva, and Vincent Van Gogh. Her career as a marketing executive and corporate event planner honed her skills in detail and balance.
Artist's Statement.
MaryAnne transformed her work and homes into her personal canvases. As she journeyed across the globe, she amassed a diverse collection of kinetic art, visual art, and textiles. In 2018, she relocated to Tucson, Arizona, where she began to study fused glass under the guidance of third-generation glass artist Alysa Phiel. MaryAnne reflects, "Creating large-format fused glass takes a lot of time and a lot of bandages. But I love it."
